What we believe
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God to and for us.
We believe that the Bible teaches us all that we need to know about truth, salvation and christian living.
We believe that the Holy Spirit guides and empowers us to live a life of faith, joy, love and hope.
We believe that every believer in Jesus has an important role in the body of Christ the Church.
SCRIPTURE
We believe that the Scriptures of the Old Testament and New Testament are the inspired Word of God and that they are the supreme and ultimate authority in all matters of Christian belief and lifestyle
(2 Tim 3:16)
GODHEAD
We believe in one God who has revealed Himself in Scripture as one eternal being, existing in three Persons,
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
(Deut 6:4, Matt 28:19, John 1:1-14, John 10:30)
MAN
We believe that man was created in the image of God and that through sin man incurred both spiritual and physical death. Consequently all men are sinners and have fallen short of God’s glory. We are completely unable to help ourselves, and need to receive God’s act of love and grace through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus. (Gen 1:26,27, Rom 5:12, Rom 3:23, Rom 6:23, John 3:16, Rom 5:6,8)
JESUS
His sinless life. We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is fully God and fully man, He lived a sinless life and had a miraculous ministry.
(Luke 1:26-38, Matt 1:20-21), Heb 7:26,27, Acts 2:22, Phil 2:6-8)
His atoning death and resurrection We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried and on the third day rose again, and that we have redemption through His blood; the forgiveness of sins.
(1 Cor 15:3,4, 1 Peter 1:18,19, Eph 1:7)
His heavenly ministry and personal return We believe that Jesus Christ ascended triumphantly to heaven; that He carries out His ministry as High Priest and Advocate before the Father on our behalf, and that He will personally and visibly return to this earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Eph 4:8-10, Heb 4:14,15, Acts 1:11, Rev 1:7, John 14:3, 1 Thes 4:16)
SALVATION We believe that by the Grace of God, everyone who in repentance and faith receives the Lord Jesus Christ as their own personal Saviour, is born again of the Holy Spirit.
(Eph 2:8, Acts 3:19, John 1:12, John 3:5,6, Acts 4:12)
BAPTISM
In Water We believe that baptism by immersion in water is the response to the Gospel by those who have repented of all sin and put their faith in Christ as Saviour and Lord.
(Matt 3:11, Acts 2:38,39)
In the Holy Spirit We believe that baptism in the Holy Spirit is the promise of Jesus Christ to every believer with the express purpose of giving the believer power to witness.
(Matt 3:11, Acts 2:38,39, Acts 1:8)
GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have been given by God to the Church for the building up of the Church until the Lord returns.
(1 Cor 12:4 – 11, Eph 4:7-16)
THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT We believe that holiness of life and conduct is God’s calling for every believer and that the fruit of the Spirit should be seen to be developing in every believers life
(1 Peter 1:14-16, Gal 5:22-25)
COMMUNION
We believe that Breaking of Bread is both a command and a privilege given to all believers that we might remember the Lord's death until He comes again
(Luke 22:7-20, 1 Cor 11:20-34)
HEALING
We believe that deliverance from sickness by Divine healing is provided for in the atonement (Isaiah 53:4,5, Matt 8:16,17, James 5:13-16)
THE FUTURE
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, for the just (saved), the everlasting presence of the Lord, and for the unjust (unsaved), everlasting, conscious punishment
(1 Cor 15: 50-52, John 5:28,29, Rev 20:11-15, Rev 21:1-5)
